TROUBLESHOOTING HATZ WITH DSE6120 CONTROLLER

If unit does not start, here are the first things to check.....

Does it have fuel in the tank?

Is it diesel fuel?

Does it have oil to full on the dipstick?

Does it have coolant full in radiator?

Is rain cap free to open on exhaust?

Is air cleaner clear of obstructions?

If levels are correct, we then check power.

Does the controller see battery power and light up when you push the red button?

Is it a full 12.3-12.8 volts?

When you push the "hand" button, then the "green" button....

The fuel pump should cycle on to purge system for 15 seconds while it preheats the glow plugs.

Does the fuel pump run initially?

What does the voltage drop to when going through preheat cycle?

Does the unit then crank over?

Any notifications on the control panel?

(E-Stop, or ECU Amber, or ECU Red)

Are there any fuses blown in fuse panel?

(Under aluminum cover on RH side of radiator package)

10mm bolt heads.  These fuses are designed to protect sensitive circuitry in the system.  DO NOT EVER USE A HIGHER RATED FUSE IN PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL SIZE.

Fuses labeled as follows:

A 15A - Power Supply for ECU

If bad: No crank.  No start.  No engine parameters show on panel - all XXXX

B 1A - Input T15/50 Control Unit

If bad: Controller shows E-Stop Shutdown on panel

C 40A - Glow Plugs

If bad: Fuel pump actuates - ECU shows Amber Warning

Will crank and start if warm enough - but not happy

D 15A - Power Supply to Customer Panel

If bad: No power to Deep Sea Panel - Does not light up

E 10A - Fuel Pump

If bad: Cranks but no start.

No fuel pump activation, no fuel pressure showing on fuel pressure page of controller

F 30A - Starter Motor

If bad: No crank.  Controller thinks it's cranking but no rotation.

TROUBLESHOOTING KUBOTA WITH KEY SWITCH

If unit does not start, here are the first things to check.....

Does it have fuel in the tank?

Is it diesel fuel?

Does it have oil to full on the dipstick?

Does it have coolant full in radiator?

Is rain cap free to open on exhaust?

Is air cleaner clear of obstructions?

If levels are correct, we then check power.

Do the gauges light up with key on?

Does the electric fuel pump run with key on?

Does the engine crank over?

What is the battery voltage?

If less than 12.3v initially, and falls to less than 10.0 while cranking over?

Check battery cables and connections or replace battery.

Does engine begin to start, then stops when you let off the key?

A) The safety system requires oil pressure to remain running.  Keep key switch engaged slightly longer (3 seconds) to build oil pressure. A failure of oil pressure switch or water temperature switch or safety relay can cause it to not continue running.

B) Check 10A fuse inside control box.  This fuse is for the fuel shutoff solenoid. DO NOT EVER USE A HIGHER RATED FUSE IN PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL SIZE.
